ESG & Sustainability

Last Modified: July 3, 2026

Our Philosophy

PMG believes the greatest sustainability impact we can have isn't in our own operations, but that it's in the work we do with our clients. As a fully remote, asynchronous, and distributed firm, our direct environmental footprint is inherently low. We don't maintain large offices, we minimize travel, and operate without the resource demands of a traditional business. Because of this, we see our role differently: we are a force multiplier for sustainable, responsible growth, not just a company managing its own carbon footprint.

Our ESG commitment centres on one core belief: helping our clients grow in ways that are better for people and the planet. Sustainability, to us, isn't a checkbox. It's a lens we bring to every engagement, embedded into the strategies and plans we build alongside the organizations we serve.

Purpose

This policy exists to clearly articulate PMG's position on environmental and social responsibility to clients, prospective talent, and partners; to establish the principles that guide how we integrate ESG considerations into client work; to set clear standards for who we will and will not work with; and to reflect our operational reality as a distributed, low-footprint firm.

Client-Centered ESG

Because PMG's own environmental footprint is minimal by design, our ESG impact is realized primarily through our clients. Where relevant and valuable, we help clients identify opportunities to improve their environmental and social practices as part of the broader plans we build with them, rather than treating ESG as a separate, bolted-on initiative. We support clients in understanding the tradeoffs and opportunities available to them, helping them make the most sustainable choices that are realistic for their business. And because ESG isn't only environmental, we also help clients think through how they treat and develop their people as part of sustainable, long-term growth.

We do not position ourselves as ESG purists or gatekeepers. We position ourselves as partners in growth. Growth, when done well, increasingly requires environmental and social maturity.

Our Own Operations

While our primary ESG impact runs through our client work, we hold ourselves to sensible standards internally. We operate remotely and asynchronously by design, which minimizes office energy use, commuting, printing, and unnecessary travel. We travel only when clients require in-person presence, and we default to remote collaboration otherwise. We rely on digital tools and workflows rather than printed documents as standard practice.

Where we rely on external infrastructure, we make intentional choices. Our cloud services run on Google Cloud, chosen in part for Google's sustainability commitments, including matching 100% of its energy consumption with renewable energy and publishing an independently assured environmental report each year, which can be viewed here.

We don't overstate any of this; it's simply a natural byproduct of how we operate and the vendors we choose, not a heavily engineered sustainability program. But it's real, and it's part of our story.

Who We Work With

PMG works with clients across virtually any industry. Our filter is about willingness to grow. We ask one core question of every prospective client: is this organization genuinely willing to make the changes necessary to grow? That growth may include operational, financial, ESG, or talent-related change. If a client is closed to growth and improvement, they're generally not a fit for PMG, regardless of industry.

We believe that creating a better world often requires working in partnership with people and organizations we may not agree with on every issue. We don't require philosophical alignment. We require genuine willingness to improve.

Despite this broad openness, PMG maintains firm, non-negotiable boundaries. We will not work with any client found to violate our Modern Slavery & Human Rights Policy, and depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may refer the matter to relevant authorities. This standard extends to our subcontractors as well; any subcontractor found in violation of this policy will be terminated from engagement with PMG, with referral to authorities considered depending on circumstances. These are the lines we do not cross, regardless of client relationship or business considerations.

Why This Matters to Us

This policy serves a clear purpose: it strengthens our ability to attract the clients, partners, and talent who share our belief that business can and should be a force for positive change. In industries where ESG and sustainability are increasingly central to purchasing decisions, hiring decisions, and brand trust, PMG wants to be recognized as a firm that takes this seriously, not through performative gestures, but through the substance of how we help our clients grow.

We measure the success of this policy not by our own emissions numbers, but by the quality and depth of ESG integration in the plans we build for clients, our reputation among environmentally and socially conscious consumers and industries, and our ability to attract talent who want to work somewhere that takes these issues seriously.

A Living Policy

This policy will evolve as PMG grows, as client needs shift, and as ESG expectations across industries mature. We intend to revisit and refine it regularly to ensure it continues to reflect both our values and the realities of how we operate.
