The Consultation Every Business Deserves
For most of our history, the depth of PMG's expertise has been available only to organizations with the budget to match. PMG Foundations changes that. A structured, research-backed advisory engagement designed specifically for small business owners who are ready to solve the right problem, not just the most visible one.
One thousand dollars. Eight hours of expert work. A senior PMG consultant in the room with you. And a clear path forward.
The Context
That gap has never sat well with us. PMG was a small business once. We built it the same way you're building yours.
PMG has spent decades advising enterprises across five practice areas: Operations and Strategy, Marketing and Branding, People and Organizations, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Customer Experience.
The organizations we work with have access to deep research, senior expertise, and structured diagnostic thinking that most small businesses never get to experience.
The industries PMG knows best (hospitality, food service, retail, professional services) are dominated not by enterprises, but by independent owners. People who built something from nothing, who manage everything themselves, and who rarely have access to the kind of thinking that could genuinely change their trajectory.
Closing the Gap
PMG Foundations is our way of democratizing enterprise-grade consulting. It brings our proven methodologies to the businesses that form the backbone of our economy.
A Complete Advisory Engagement
PMG Foundations is not a lighter version of what we do for larger clients. It is a focused, time-bounded engagement built around your specific situation, with the same diagnostic rigour, the same quality of thinking, and the same senior access that defines every PMG engagement. PMG Foundations has been designed from the ground up to be maximally useful and high-value to SMB's specifically.
Diagnostic Intake
You begin by telling us about your business in your own words. Our intake process, informed by PMG's diagnostic frameworks and five practice areas, is designed to surface the real root of your challenges, not just confirm what you already suspect. Many business owners come to us believing they have a marketing problem. Often, the issue lies elsewhere. Our process is built to find that distinction.
Dedicated Research Brief
Once your intake is complete, a PMG analyst prepares a tailored research brief benchmarking your business against your industry, your competitive context, and the specific functional area your engagement will address. This is not a template. It is a document built around your situation.
Senior Consultant Preparation
Your assigned senior PMG consultant reviews your intake, your research brief, and any additional materials you provide before your meeting is scheduled. They arrive prepared. You do not spend your consultation time explaining context that should have been read in advance.
The Consultation
A focused, two-hour advisory session with your senior consultant. This is a working conversation, structured around your business, your challenges, and what the research has surfaced. You will leave with clarity on what the actual problem is, where to focus first, and what the path forward looks like.
Your Action Plan
Following the consultation, you receive a polished written summary of what was discussed, what was recommended, and what your next steps are. Something you can act on immediately.
From Intake to Action Plan
A streamlined, purposeful process to get to the heart of your business challenge.
Tell us about your business
You begin with a free-form problem statement in your own words, describing what you are experiencing and where your business feels stuck. Alternatively, you work through a structured set of prompts covering the most common challenges facing businesses in your industry. Either path works. Both tell us what we need to know.
We identify the right focus area
Using PMG's diagnostic framework, we map your responses to our five practice areas and identify where your engagement should be focused. In some cases, what looks like one kind of problem is actually rooted in another. Our intake process is designed to surface that. If your situation spans more than one area, we will reach out before proceeding.
Our analysts get to work
A PMG analyst researches your business, your competitive landscape, and your industry. They prepare a brief that gives your senior consultant a complete picture of your situation before the two of you speak.
You meet with a senior PMG consultant
Your consultant arrives prepared. The conversation is focused, substantive, and built around what the research has surfaced and what you need to resolve. Two hours. No preamble.
You leave with an action plan
A clear, written summary of the consultation: what was discussed, what was recommended, and where to direct your attention next. Drafted to be used, not filed away.
What This Is and What It Is Not
PMG Foundations is a defined engagement with a defined output. It is not an open-ended retainer, an ongoing advisory relationship, or a pathway to a larger PMG contract unless that is something you choose to pursue. It is a single, high-quality intervention designed to give you clarity on a problem your business is facing right now.
What We Will Do
- Diagnose the actual root of your challenge, not just the symptom you presented.
- Benchmark your business against relevant industry context.
- Prepare a senior consultant who arrives ready to work.
- Deliver a clear, written action plan you can act on immediately.
What We Will Not Do
- Recommend a broader engagement unless the evidence genuinely supports it.
- Deliver a generic report that could apply to any business.
- Treat this as anything other than a full PMG engagement.
We Are Testing This.
We Want You to Be Part of It.
PMG Foundations is in active pilot. Before a wider launch, we are working with a small number of businesses to pressure-test the process, refine the intake experience, and ensure the engagement delivers what it promises.
Pilot clients receive the complete PMG Foundations engagement at the standard price. In return, we ask for honest feedback on the process: what worked, what did not, and what we should improve.
If you are navigating a genuine business challenge and want access to senior consulting expertise at a price point that has not previously been available to you, we want to hear from you. Pilot spots are limited. Applications are reviewed by our team and we will respond within five business days.
PMG Foundations is $1,000 per engagement. No retainer. No ongoing commitment.
Advice That Gets Smarter
Every PMG Foundations engagement produces something beyond the consultation itself: a record. Your intake, your research brief, your action plan, and the work assembled by your analyst team all remain on file under your agreement number.
Engagement 02
When you return for new engagements, we do not start from scratch. We start from where we left off. Your second consultation benefits from the context of your first.
Engagement 05
Your fifth benefits from the trajectory we have been tracking across your business, building on established progress.
Engagement 10+
By your tenth, PMG has assembled a body of work that no single engagement could produce on its own: prior research, previous recommendations, and a detailed understanding of how your challenges have evolved.
Save your agreement number.
Every consultation you complete adds to a growing foundation of knowledge about your business, held by a team that has seen where you started, what you tried, and what worked.
The advice you receive will reflect that history. The price will not.
